Tucker Carlson's Dr. Fauci rhetoric

Tucker Carlson's Dr. Fauci rhetoric

On Friday, Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson accused Dr. Anthony Fauci, a prominent health official in the US, of lying about his role during the pandemic and participating in a “cover-up” of certain aspects. Fauci has previously claimed that his emails and public statements have been distorted. According to Carlson, in the early days of the pandemic, public health officials in Washington were fearful of being exposed and panicked. As a result, Carlson believes that they imposed “medical martial law” to suppress questioning. He went on to accuse officials of being concerned that their funding of experiments at the Wuhan Institute of Virology would be discovered and that they had used American tax dollars to finance risky experiments that likely created COVID-19.

To avoid being shamed and possibly indicted, they immediately began a cover-up, Carlson claimed.

This week, BuzzFeed and the Washington Post released Fauci’s emails, which appeared to contradict his public statements. However, in a Friday night appearance on MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show, Fauci dismissed the accusations, calling them “nonsense” and a “terrible distraction.”
