Is Marjorie Taylor Green a Sociopath? Laughing at Covid Deaths

Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene laughed off a journalist's question about Covid-19 fatalities, responding with "You crack me up." The question came after Twitter briefly suspended Ms. Greene's account for posting Covid-19 misinformation. She had claimed the virus was not dangerous for people under 65 and non-obese individuals, which is false. During a press conference, a journalist asked if Ms. Greene felt any responsibility for keeping Georgians safe, specifically mentioning the children and thin people who have died from Covid-19. Instead of providing a genuine answer, Ms. Greene laughed and said people are responsible for their own safety. Nearly 250,000 of the 609,000 Americans who have died from Covid-19 were under 65 years old, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Obesity does increase the risk of severe illness from the virus, but being thin does not make someone immune to it. The only thing that provides immunity is vaccination, which Ms. Greene discourages.

On Monday, Ms. Greene tweeted that the "controversial #COVID19 vaccines should not be forced on our military for a virus that is not dangerous for non-obese people and those under 65." Twitter flagged the tweet as misleading and suspended her account for 12 hours.

Ms. Greene showed no remorse for her misinformation, accusing Twitter of a "Communist-style attack on free speech." Her giggly answer to the journalist's question has been met with criticism on social media, with many people stating that her actions are not pro-life and that she is not fit to represent the nation.
