Melania Trump attempts to place the blame on her "friend"

A former confidante of first lady Melania Trump has written a book claiming that Ivanka Trump, the president's daughter and senior adviser, engaged in a series of White House turf wars that aimed to undermine Melania. The book, titled "Melania & Me" and written by Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, also details alleged internecine warfare within the Trump family, including a controversy over plagiarism in Melania's speech at the 2016 Republican national convention.

 Wolkoff, who had known Melania since 2003, had worked as an events planner for the first lady, organizing events, hiring staff, and writing speeches. However, she left the White House shortly after the New York Times reported that an events company she had started was paid almost $26m from the $107m raised to pay for Donald Trump's inauguration. Melania declined to defend her friend, and Wolkoff said her book was a response to a "betrayal" that "nearly destroyed" her.
