Rachel Maddow, the renowned liberal news commentator, had a challenging commute to work one day. With her left ankle injury from a fishing accident, Maddow struggled to walk on crutches from her doctor’s office to the waiting SUV that would take her to Rockefeller Plaza. Her presence in Manhattan did not go unnoticed, as people stopped her for selfies and well-wishes along the way. A woman with a graying ponytail stopped Maddow in her path to ask for a selfie to send to her friend in Oregon, who is a devoted viewer of Maddow's show. Maddow obliged, as a man in shorts filmed the interaction from a distance. Meanwhile, a woman down the block screamed something indecipherable towards Maddow.

As she reached the curb, another woman appeared and expressed her admiration for Maddow's work, asking for a hug. Maddow accepted, and the woman introduced herself as Emily and her ex-husband, Ed, who also expressed his admiration for Maddow.

Maddow attempted to shake Ed's hand, but quickly realized she couldn't make the necessary movement due to her injury, and apologized for her limitation.

Despite her physical challenge, Maddow remained gracious and accommodating to her fans, showing her dedication to her work and supporters.
