A disturbing video shows a driver exchanging gunfire with another driver on Interstate 95 in Miami-Dade County. The incident occurred on June 21, 2021, at around 7 a.m., near Northwest 151st Street. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the shooting was a result of road rage.

Eric Popper was captured on dashcam footage pulling out his gun and shooting at the other driver several times while traveling southbound on the highway. Both drivers opened fire on each other, and both cars were hit, but neither driver was injured.

Popper and the other driver pulled over and called 911. Popper's attorney, Robert Gershman, confirmed that the video was from the incident and claimed that Popper was defending himself.


According to a police report, the other driver claimed he did not have a gun and threw a water bottle at Popper's car. However, photos provided by law enforcement showed both cars riddled with bullets.

Popper turned himself in and was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and shooting/throwing a deadly missile.
