Security Guards Pulls a Gun on a Cop

A Lucas County Sheriff's Deputy was subjected to a terrifying ordeal when a security guard pointed his gun at him in an IRS office. Seth Eklund, the security guard, was charged with simple assault and pleaded no contest, receiving a sentence of probation. He has been banned from owning a gun during his probation period and must attend a gun safety class and undergo mental health counseling. Eklund demanded that Deputy Alan Gaston remove his firearm from the IRS office, which has a no-firearms policy, despite Gaston being in full uniform with his badge and firearm visible.

When Gaston refused, Eklund aimed his gun at the deputy's back. Gaston and his wife have filed a civil lawsuit against Eklund and the security company, seeking compensation for emotional and psychological distress and lost wages.
